The Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah will be hosting a virtual interactive educational class for kids nationwide on May 17.
Cougar Mountain Zoo is a nonprofit whose goal is to increase the understanding and appreciation of wildlife and the role of humanity in nature through education, conservation, propagation, and exhibitions.
Sasha Hendricks, Education Curator at the Cougar Mountain Zoo will introduce children to numerous animals at the zoo and explore how animal eating habits assist with understanding how certain animals look, where they live, when they sleep, and what they do.
Hendricks has experience working with a variety of species to include macaws, wallabies, tigers, cougars, and wolves. Additionally, she spent some years assisting with research on cougars in the Cascade Mountain range.
The virtual class, “Creature Cuisine: What’s on the Menu?” will be available on Varsity Tutors for free. The class caters to children in grades 3 through 7, and will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
