The Sammamish City Council unanimously passed an emergency ordinance for the Tamarack neighborhood at its Oct. 18 meeting at City Hall.

Community development director Jeff Thomas said the ordinance is similar to a previous ordinance passed by the council for the Inglewood Hill area in 2014. It would tighten development requirements in Tamarack, lowering the threshold for drainage review from 2000 square feet to 500 square feet.

The ordinance passed with the amendment that it would automatically expire at the end of a six month period unless sooner repealed. It will be subject to a public hearing at the council’s Dec. 13 meeting.
