Stephanie Fox went a complete seven innings, allowing only one run on two hits to earn the victory in Friday’s win. Pohlman was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Eastlake moved to 7-1 with the wins and is in second place of the KingCo 4A. The Wolves are scheduled to host first place Woodinville at 4 p.m. today.

Soccer

The Issaquah soccer team lost a pair of one-goal games, falling 3-2 to Newport on Friday and 3-2 to Mercer Island on Monday.

The Eagles led 2-0 in both games before losing in overtime. Issaquah scored two first-half goals on Friday from Junpei Tsuji. He scored one in the fifth minute on an assist from Connor Gerrity and in the 19th minute on another assist from Gerrity. Newport rallied in the first half, scoring goals in the 24th and 35th minute. The two teams remained scoreless in the second half, before the Knights’ Curtis Stensland scored in the final minute of overtime. Issaquah jumped out to the lead again on Monday on a goal in the fifth minute from Brian Larsen. Quinn Grisham added another in the 55th minute. Mercer Island battled back, however, scoring goals in the 67th and 70th minutes. The Islanders’ Dominic Cristalli scored the winning goal seven minutes into overtime. Newport and Mercer Island are tied for the top spot in KingCo 3A. Issaquah fell to 1-7-2 with the losses.

Skyline stays

in tie for second

Skyline defeated Mount Si 4-0 on Friday and tied Interlake 0-0 on Monday to remain in a tie for second place in the KingCo 3A.

The Spartans received goals from Riley McCoy, Braxton Griffin, Will Cotral and David Bretl in Friday’s win. Goalkeeper Brian Schwartz recorded shutouts in both games.

Skyline was 6-2-3 as of press time and tied with Sammamish for second place in league. The Spartans faced Issaquah Wednesday night and travel to first place Newport at 7:30 p.m. today.

Eastlake wins

on late goal

Eastlake earned a league victory Tuesday night, downing Roosevelt 1-0 at home. The Wolves and Rough Riders remained scoreless until the 75th minute, when Jordan Softli punched in a goal on an assist from Cutler Gray. Eastlake defeated Inglemoor 4-0 last Friday in a non-league contest. Jordan Strong, Nick Rudella, Patrick Yagi and Softli all scored goals. The Wolves bumped their league record to 5-1 and overall record to 8-3 with the wins.

Golf

Skyline won a one-hole tie-breaker to claim a league match over Issaquah Monday afternoon at Snoqualmie Falls Golf Course. The two teams were tied at 242 strokes after regulation.

Issaquah’s Brittany Tallman took medalist honors shooting a two-under par, 34. Skyline’s Meaghan Madgett shot 41 to take second. Issaquah’s Cori Burke took third with a 43 and Skyline’s Chelsea Guedette and Emily Baldwin tied for fourth, shooting 49s.

Redmond defeated Eastlake April 10, shooting a 214 at Bear Creek Golf Course. The Wolves shot a 236.
