BASKETBALL CAMP

New York Knicks guard and former University of Washington star Nate Robinson will host his first-ever “Nate Robinson Basketball Camp” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 29-Aug. 1 at Mercer Island’s Community Center at Mercer View. The camp is for boys and girls ages 6-16 and will include guest speakers, low coach-to-camper ratio, several games per day and daily contests. Cost of the four-day camp is $275. The spring elementary program runs from May 12 through June 6 with practices offered at Issaquah High School, Skyline High School and Liberty High School. The elementary, middle and high school summer programs run from June 9 through July 17 with practices offered at IHS until June 17 before switching to Skyline HS during the scheduled IHS renovation. TIME TO PLAY BALL

It’s time for Special Olympics softball to start the 2008 season in Issaquah. The first practice is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 6 at Tibbets Park in Issaquah. Henson is currently an assistant coach at Cal Poly and was a world champion and Olympic silver medalist.
