Edgar W. Henninger, of Issaquah, died at Providence Marianwood on Tuesday, Feb. 24. He was 76 years old. Edgar was born on September 25, 1932 in Summit Hill, Pennsylvania, the son of Frank and Pearl Henninger. He served with the United States Marine Corps from December, 1952 to August, 1973 in aircraft maintenance. He entered as a Private, and retired with the rank of Captain. Ed met Allie through his brother, Archie, who was married to Allie’s sister, Maggie. He always said he knew he was going to marry Allie the first time he saw her. He was right, and they were wed on Nov. 10, 1953. After serving in the Marine Corps for 21 years, Ed retired to Issaquah. For eight years, he owned A & E Market on East Lake Sammamish. After selling the store and retiring, Ed spent many hours gardening and growing his dahlias and roses. Together he and Allie enjoyed traveling in their recreational vehicle, square dancing, round dancing and roller skating. Survivors include his wife; Allie, of Issaquah, their two sons; James Henninger, of Memphis, Tenn.,
and Richard Henninger, of Corona,Calif., and daughter; Carrie Self, of Lynden, Wash. He also has 10 grandchildren
and ten great-grandchildren.
