Brett Nelson died on September 25, 2019, after battling metastatic kidney cancer. He is forever loved and greatly missed by his wife of 38 years Lois Nelson, daughter Heather Nelson and son Drew Nelson, by his father Richard, brothers Keith and Duane, sister Andrea Hougan, by their families, and by his extended family and friends. His mother Carol predeceased him in 2018.

Brett was a native of Washington, and grew up on Mercer Island and later in Blaine. He graduated from Blaine High School and then from the University of Southern California, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau. He was a proud Trojan and a life long supporter of USC football. Brett served on the board of the Seattle chapter of the USC Alumni Association. He met Lois in college, and spent many happy years raising a family and traveling to both the east and west coasts of the country. Brett lived in Issaquah and was a co-owner of Executive Real Estate in Bellevue. He enjoyed photography, the outdoors, and he could tackle any home remodeling project. He served his church, and loved his St. Andrew’s family. Brett’s faith guided and sustained him throughout his life.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church Saturday October 26th at 1:00pm in Bellevue.
